We have enjoyed working with Mary McIntyre since 2002, helping to realise her imagery in the form of museum quality
C Type prints. We start this process with high resolution drum scans from medium format transparencies. Together in a studio environment, on a one to one basis, we size, crop and colour correct the images producing test prints for comparison. Often this is a collection of similar images that sit side by side in an exhibition and as such they must all be of similar colour and density balances.
These prints are then mounted and laminated ready for framing on either dibond or 10mm foamalux with a protective laminate
Mary McIntyre’s photographs often present spaces and places that have been forgotten and overlooked. The atmosphere of each location resonates from the image. With this in mind she depicts the transformation that occurs to these locations at specific times of day, when for a fleeting moment, the play of light can transform the mundane, urban environment. When photographed at night and artificially lit, these spaces begin to take on a cinematic quality, imbuing them with a heightened psychological charge.
