What is it?

Prepress is the process of preparing artwork, film and screens for conventional printing methods. Technically it is almost anything that happens to a job prior to being printed i.e. the steps of the production process before the ink goes on the paper.

Electronic prepress production methods involve computers, scanning of artwork or photos and film output from an imagesetter.
